What more can be said – look at that number, that represents the amount of pounds that have been lost by me! This momentous occasion happened this morning – I couldn’t believe it when I stepped on the scale and I saw this:

http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc237/BizAdventure/2008_0725_100lb_Loss.jpg

It was only 13 months ago (almost to the day as I started on this journey on June 26, 2007) that this number was a full 100 lbs higher. And in 13 months, look at what I accomplished with the HCG Protocol. Unreal.

It sure made me pay for it. On my last cycle, ending June 29th, I had a stall for the last few days and was stuck at 153. Since Monday of this week I was at 152.2 – stuck at that weight all week, never thinking that I would drop the last 1.4 lbs in one night.

I hung true to the protocol, even took measurements yesterday to see if I was indeed still losing (yes, even I get nervous still!) and indeed I was so I relaxed, and then was blessed with a nice drop to give me my long awaited 100 lbs.

It feels good, I have to tell you. Really good. It was a long time coming and its here.

I would like to thank the academy – wait, strike that, I would like to thank all of you out there reading this, whether this is your first visit to my words, or you’re a long time friend – without each and every one of you I could not have made it this far. Each one of you has touched my life on this journey in one way or another and words just cannot possibly convey the thanks that you all deserve.

I have so much to say, but as you can imagine, I am at a loss to put this into words at this precise moment. I will however reserve the right to expand on this feeling over the next few days.

http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc237/BizAdventure/biz100lbs.jpg

So I leave you with my sassy self!

2.8 NEEDED TO LOSE TO REACH 100 POUNDS

6.8 loss so far - .6 more to LIW of Cycle 2 - 2.8 lbs more till I reach 100 lbs lost!

Loving life right about now. These numbers are too unreal - dare I say it? It is topping MY FOURTH ROUND - I am quite frankly AMAZED - no joke. 6.8 lbs in 3 completed days. I am gonna get into the 140’s before the week is up if I keep this up!

But seriously, I haven’t really wrapped my head around being in the 150’s and now already I am gonna have to deal with the 140’s??? What is up with that?

WOW

I had a really rough day yesterday (just really weak), and now today my back is hurting - I have come to the conclusion that something is going on with my body, it’s shifting or something - funky things are happening. I have not been this weight since the early 80’s - and something weird is happening to my muscles in my back.

During the first round, I lost an incredible amount of inches from my thighs and they were in a constant state of aching while on protocol. This time, I think I am dealing with back fat or something cause since Tuesday morning, some strangeness is happening back there - and now I am in bed, this is the 2nd day. UGH

Oh well, interesting to see what the future holds for me. Pictures should be interesting this round that is for sure.

I am short on time, so this is my update for today!!!

Let me go back to answering my commenters from yesterday:

Trudi - thanks for the wonderful words!  We have all been given a great gift, it’s up to us to use it wisely, give of it freely.  Thanks for being a part of my journey!  BTW - YOUR PICS ARE AWESOME!

LIW - 153.0 lbs (06.29.08)
Today’s Weight - 153.0 lbs
0.0 OVER/UNDER LIW

Once again I went MIA - what are you people gonna do with me?  OMG - I am such a FLAKE!  Really, I am NOT trying to go MIA - it’s just happening!  Oh well, I will try to do better!

Yesterday was my LIW for this Cycle - I didn’t make it to 100 lbs loss, but before I go into some LONE TIRADE about how I feel about this, let me quote something someone wrote me over at the My HCG Journey Community Forums - because quite frankly?  It put everything into perspective for me:

And B, even if you don’t make a stupid number goal, think of ALL that you have accomplished in the last year. And think of ALL the people that you have gotten to GOAL or helped them on their way to a better, healthier “them”!!!!!!!!!!!! When you have touched and changed LIVES, does a number really mean success or failure?!? I mean, isn’t it just a number?!?! And would it be any less monumental if those 100 pounds came at say a year a a day or a year and a week or a year a month?!?! I think not.

So, once again, thank you DAWN for coming to my rescue, making me realize what this is really all about and to be very happy with where I am TODAY.  Your a peach.

So without further adieu, let me go ahead and post my stats, because they pretty much speak for themselves!

I was not able to come close to Round 4 losses in Body Weight Lost Percentage - but that is OKIE DOKIE ARTICHOKIE!!!

  • Round 1 (20 completed days) - 7.74% of body weight lost
  • Round 2 (20 completed days) - 8.12% of body weight lost
  • Round 3 (20 completed days) - 9.21% of body weight lost
  • Round 4 (20 completed days) - 12.15% of body weight lost
  • Round 5 (Cycle 1) (20 completed days) - 7.81% of body weight lost
  • Round 5 (Cycle 2) (20 completed days) - 9.68% of body weight lost

I lost 16.4 lbs this round!  My LIW was 153 - which is 10 pounds below LIW of Round 5 Cycle 1 and 9 pounds below LIW of Round 4 - so I feel this was a great round.  Ok, so I am 2.2 away from making 100 lbs, I will do that NEXT round, which incidently will start on the 16th - because the family is going out of town!  Yes, we are headed to AIKEN/AUGUSTA!

Updates on Son and JPS:

My Son’s Stats:

  • Starting Weight - 190.4 (after load)
  • LIW - 174.6 (15.8 LBS LOST)
  • 20 completed days percentage Body Weight Lost - 9.05%

JPS’ Stats:

  • Starting Weight - 136.0 (after load, which is only like .8 over her LIW of Cycle 1)
  • LIW - 125.8 (10.2 LBS LOST)
  • 20 completed days percentage Body Weight Lost - 7.50%

Update on Inches:

Inches Lost Round 5 Cycle 2

And now the long awaited PICTURE UPDATE:

I haven’t updated pictures since my LIW of Round 4 which was way back in February (the 17th to be exact) - I didn’t take any pictures at the end of my Round 5 Cycle 1 because of not even getting to my LIW of Round 4 so I didn’t think pictures were necessary.  But I did take them yesterday because it was 9 pounds difference, and boy what 9 pounds can do!  OMG!  Lookie here!

First let me show you the differences between my LIW of Round 4 and Yesterday - Keep in mind that my LIW of Round 4 was 162 - and yesterday my LIW was 153:

Now, let me show you the differences between my BEFORES (Last June 23, 2007) and Yesterday (June 29, 2008) - Almost a YEAR and a DAY:

And then, for those of you that like to see the progression, here ya go:

Ok, so how about them apples? What do you think??? Stay tuned for the next installment of Cycle 3 to start on the 16th of July! If I can maintain an average of about 10 lbs per cycle, then I should be done in about 3 or 4 more cycles! Who knows where the HCG will take me!

I am going to discuss in detail what I ate yesterday further below, but for the interest of continuity, I am going to post it here as well. Cottage Cheese and Strawberries with Cinnamon for breakfast, brunch was an Omelet (1 whole egg, 2 egg whites) with leftover steak, green onions and tomatoes, I had a snack of a piece of melba toast and fat free cream cheese. Dinner was Cottage Cheese and Peaches! MMMMM - I also splurged with some coffee and cream last night.

A total of around 461 calories divided this way: 14 Fat, 41 Carbs, 45 Protein

Our FAQ Question this go round is the following, please spend some time if you can answering this survey:

Thank you Becca for answering my FAQ yesterday! New one now!

Since we are on Phase 3 - let’s discuss those people out there that actually have a difficult time keeping weight ON during the Phase 3 portion of the Protocol. Yes, there are some out there with this problem. Remember that Dr Simeon’s said that it was just as important to keep the weight on as it was to keep it off! So please help out if you can!

Phase 3 - What If You’re Still Losing???

Peaches

Oh yeah! Peaches are one of my favorite fruits. And I live in one of the biggest peach production states that there is! I have stayed away from them this whole protocol totally believing that they were one of the the ‘forbidden fruits’ - after all, Dr Simeon’s never mentioned them so they were NOT allowed. But, as you all know, I am wondering if this was a ‘locale’ driven decision or some sort of ‘chemical’ based decision, and the more and more I experiment with things, the more I lean towards a “locale” based synopsis. Now bear in mind that I did enjoy my peaches each and every break!

Just for kicks, I had JPS pull out our old NHW information. Remember, the very first round I did (with the exception of two weeks) was done with NHW - they sent a packet of information with the shots and in looking over it, it was so dang confusing that I said to heck with that, I would just stick with what works with Dr Simeon’s and pretty much discarded that information.

Looking over that information NOW after learning all that I have learned with this protocol - I surely see it in different eyes. I still feel their whole “A”, “B” and “C” lists are way too confusing for the average person, but I find it interesting all the different things they say you can eat on the protocol.

JPS suggested that I experiment with the stuff that they said was ‘allowable’ - among some of these things was PEACHES!!! Doncha know I went right out and purchased some frozen peaches right then and there??? Cause ya know, peaches and cottage cheese is even better than strawberries and cottage cheese! ROFL

I certainly enjoyed my peaches last night, plain and simple. Again, I felt like I was sinning! Ohhh, what a deviation!

So what is on the menu for today? I have something up my sleeve, and I would like to see if it works. But I am not sharing yet! ROFL

Here are the numbers for those of you following:

Day 20 (Complete) - Round 4 = 10.85% Body Weight Loss
Day 20 (Complete) - Round 3 = 9.21% Body Weight Loss
Day 20 (Complete) - Round 2 = 8.12% Body Weight Loss
Day 20 (Complete) - Round 1 = 7.74% Body Weight Loss

Quite frankly, I am completely amazed at the losses I am experiencing. I am not gonna lie to you, nope. I am freaking myself out at the rate at which I am losing this round and that I continue to lose. Even through the experiments, and most of all, through TOM - what is THAT about???

I am thrilled that I am having an opportunity to test my theories, after all, I don’t have that much further to go ya know? It kind boggles my mind that I am this close to goal. I don’t think that the reality has sunk in yet.

I ALMOST FORGOT TO TELL YOU!!!

I was having another one of those days yesterday, it’s like all of a sudden, I can’t find anything to wear. It’s like almost overnight, things just DON’T fit anymore. JPS was laughing as I was looking for something to put on. She looked at me and said, Biz, do you want to try these jeans on? Like she wanted me to try on the jeans SHE had on right then and there. I was like, JPS, those are stinkin’ size 12’s, um NO - there is NO way I could fit in those. And she was like, Biz, um, have you seen yourself lately? You need to try them on, I bet you they would fit. I was like, ok, let me teach you a lesson and hand them over.

People??? THEY FIT!!! I didn’t have to lay in the bed, I didn’t have to do anything but just PUT THEM ON and THEY FIT! OMG! SIZE 12′S!!!!!!!!!!! JEANS!!!!!!!!!! ME!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was just a little bit freaky. I am officially a lower weight than my husband. A lower weight than he has ever seen me. I am now fitting in clothes that JPS wears??? We have always been like 2 sizes apart, all throughout this protocol, and right now, at this moment, I am fitting in the same size as her. Granted, the jeans are getting too loose on her and they were snug on me, but still???? TOO FREAKY!!!

Now this kinda worried me a bit. I have to go to California on the 20th. I started to pick out clothes that I was gonna take with me when I went, and people? I don’t think they are gonna fit. Now my sister says she has a bunch of clothes for me so I don’t need much, but still. You want things you are familiar with ya know? At least for a little while. Geesh, life should be this hard.

So, over this next week before I leave, I will be going through clothes again. Getting rid of things that don’t fit. Geesh.

On to my commenter’s - these are my responses to yesterday’s comments:

Crystal - HA! Going over NHW’s menu??? That pretty much freaked me out. The biggest thing they said that had me howling? Do not do meat and fish in the same day! HA! I have some of my biggest losses doing that! ROFL

Lili - LOL - It was Ivory my hubby used. And only had to do it once it made such an impression! Hey girl, I tried to call you back yesterday, and it went to your voice mail but I don’t think it let me leave a message, I couldn’t tell. But I tried twice! Today?

Shelly - Oh my! I need to run over to your blog and check out what happened??? Girl, don’t follow the wayward path of BIZ!

EweWho - Your talking of Shaklee’s stuff sure brings back fond memories - Basic H, I grew UP on that stuff - I really need to get with you on this stuff … but you know how I feel about joining up. UGH - I just want the PRODUCT! I seriously thought I was gonna have a bounce back from the beer day, cause alcohol and all, but it looks like that feeling was unfounded. What do I need to do???

Monica - Thank you my sweet!!!! You had a STELLER break, GO YOU!

Tracey - Thanks for asking about the disease. It’s my understanding that the disease is located in the cornea and so yes, by having a cornea transplant it should stop it. But I will ask her for sure. And WOO HOO on you being back!

Mary - Seriously Mary, I don’t know what I am doing right. You know, you have been with me a while, I am usually BY THE BOOK. And yet??? This is SO WEIRD!

Liz - Wouldn’t that just be a HOOT??? My body can lose on anything??? Geesh, I should be granted this great wish, for what reason??? Is it because I have DONE MY TIME??? Who knows, but I will take it!

Becca - I hope the green beans work for you, Ms Snow Bunny! I bet you wowed them on the slopes this weekend!

Have a wonderful day people!

Biz

Here is my menu for yesterday. This is what I had:

Well, yesterday I had every intent of changing up my menu because quite frankly I was getting bored. And things went well until after my afternoon snack! I had my coffee and half and half, a grapefruit half for morning, Thai Hot and Sour Soup for lunch, grapefruit for mid afternoon snack, and then I don’t even want to go into what happened for supper. Suffice it to say that all I had for dinner was coffee and cream. Don’t holler at me, it was a preponderance of things that lead to this decision, as I absolutely refuse to eat past 7pm … the rest is history.

A total of around 310 calories divided this way: 6 Fat, 35 Carbs, 30 Protein

Our FAQ Question this go round is the following, please spend some time if you can answering this survey:

Thanks goes to Rosie and Renee (BB) for answering the FAQ question yesterday! Any others willing to approach this subject?

Foods on Phase 2 - Do Some Work Better Than Others?

Do As I Say, Not As I Do!

Don’t skip meals unless absolutely necessary - seriously. I didn’t plan what happened last night, I wanted to eat my dinner, it is just circumstances prohibited it, and I was not going to take a chance of eating at 7pm - I just can’t eat that late anymore. Just not gonna do it.

With everything else that happened last night, I ended up with a migraine. Now this is the 2nd migraine I have had in 4 weeks, and now I am going to have to assume it has something to do with the coffee. I hate it, but you don’t have to hit me over the head with a baseball bat more than twice for me to get the picture. I am off of coffee.

I fully expect there to be some sort of bounce back or stall because of not eating yesterday, I will be sure to eat today my required meals. In any case, I am in the 160’s today and all is good with the world. 169.4 - that just looks WRONG, but it isn’t. What an amazing program. I am on this until the 17th of this month (LIW) and I do believe that my goal for this round might have been a little short sighted. I only have two more pounds to reach my goal, and I think I may get there some time next week!

Most excellent!

Here are the numbers for those of you following:

Day 11 (Complete) - Round 4 = 8.13% Body Weight Loss
Day 11 (Complete) - Round 3 = 6.73% Body Weight Loss
Day 11 (Complete) - Round 2 = 5.78% Body Weight Loss
Day 11 (Complete) - Round 1 = 4.94% Body Weight Loss

To me? That is simply incredible!

Are You Attached to a Certain Number on the Scale?

The closer we get to what we consider our ‘ideal’ weight we start to be very determined to reach a certain number on the scale. It could be a number that we were at in high school, a number that we were when we were married, a number we were at in college, but a certain number where we feel that we need to be in order to call this program a success.

I have posted this time and time again that my so called “goal” weight of 150 is so arbitrary because I really have no idea what HCG can do for this 45 year old body. It might stop me at 150, or it might continue to go down to 135, or some other ludicrous number, but it’s not about the number on the scale with me. I am all about my body and what the HCG does to it.

I am seriously a completely different person than when I was married the first time in 1981, at 108 pounds. Do I think it’s possible to get to that weight again? Um, NO, I don’t even WANT it. I have had a child for goodness sake, my body has changed. I am completely content to letting the HCG dictate where I need to be. I have had enough experience with this program, and watching the successes of others to KNOW that it does indeed work, and work well.

I see more and more people out there becoming discouraged with the program the closer they get to their goal. What is simply amazing to me is that they have seen it work with the first 50 pounds they had to lose, but when it comes to the HCG doing the “SCULPTING” thing, they all of a sudden start to have doubts about the validity of the program. That blows my mind.

What that says to me is that they are looking at this protocol as only a weight loss thing, and not what it truly was designed for: FAT ON THE MOVE - Dr S made that plain. I am reminded time and time again of his story of “The Emaciated Lady”. If you haven’t refreshed your memory of this story, please allow me to do this for you.

The Emaciated Lady

I remember the case of a lady who was escorted into my consulting room while I was telephoning. She sat down in front of my desk, and when I looked up to greet her I saw the typical picture of advanced emaciation. Her dry skin hung loosely over the bones of her face, her neck was scrawny and collarbones and ribs stuck out from deep hollows. I immediately thought of cancer and decided to which of my colleagues at the hospital I would refer her. Indeed, I felt a little annoyed that my assistant had not explained to her that her case did not fall under my specialty. In answer to my query as to what I could do for her, she replied that she wanted to reduce. I tried to hide my surprise, but she must have noted a fleeting expression, for she smiled and said “I know that you think I’m mad, but just wait.” With that she rose and came round to my side of the desk. Jutting out from a tiny waist she had enormous hips and thighs.

By using a technique which will presently be described, the abnormal fat on her hips was transferred to the rest of her body which had been emaciated by months of very severe dieting. At the end of a treatment lasting five weeks, she, a small woman, had lost 8 inches round her hips, while her face looked fresh and florid, the ribs were no longer visible and her weight was the same to the ounce as it had been at the first consultation.

Notice what I highlighted. Good grief! Can you imagine being this woman??? 5 entire weeks on this protocol, and she was exactly the same weight as when she started. Can you imagine??? And I hear people getting disgruntled at two days at the same weight. What the heck???

The true MIRACLE of this protocol is the SCULPTING, and not the WEIGHT LOSS. Please, please, PLEASE remember that. Sure, massive weight loss happens in the beginning, but then you need to give the HCG time to SCULPT and MOLD your body.

Granted, this woman had a DOCTOR telling her all was well, that things were working like they were supposed to. And I am sure through Dr S’s clinic that he was meticulous with measurements and pictures for his research. But us? Most of us have chosen the road of SELF DOCTORING and so we don’t have that benefit of someone telling us all is well, just keep doing what your doing and it is working. We have to rely on ourselves, and quite frankly, we can let a little thing like no loss on the scale drive us down a dark and empty path of futility.

When you are close to goal, and you are having days without losses, what are you doing to prove to yourself that the HCG is still working?

  • Have you taken measurements?
  • Have you taken pictures? (CANNOT STRESS HOW IMPORTANT PICTURES ARE!)
  • Do you have a pair of jeans a size or two smaller than when you started that particular round and try them on every day to see if it feels different?

Dr S was very clear that the HCG would stop working when there was no more fat to move. He never said that once the weight loss stops your done. He said, once your RAVENOUSLY HUNGRY the HCG had stopped consuming abnormal fat.

Please stop thinking of this as a “DIET” - it’s a PROTOCOL - MEDICALLY PROVEN - it’s not just to LOSE weight, it’s to get rid of abnormal fat. Remember that, PLEASE???

Do not get attached to what ever number you think is your IDEAL weight. Let the HCG determine that number. After all, I don’t mind being 150 lbs if I am in a size 8!!! Are you FREAKIN’ KIDDING ME???

Nuff said…

On to my commenter’s - these are my responses to yesterday’s comments:

Shelly - HA! Baby got back! Too funny!

Mary - I made it, I made it!!! WOO HOO FOR ME!!!

Monica - I really did give it a shot to like Stevia, but I can’t do it. I have tried all different brands, and both the liquid and the powder, and it is just ick. I don’t like sweet and low either because of the bad stuff, but while I am on protocol, that is what I use - the sweetness most resembles sugar to me. Maintaining positives is the way to go, especially on this protocol!

Crystal - it sure is good to have you back!!!

Lili - you crack me up! HA! Have success at your show! Save some of that money for the YOU KNOW WHAT!!!

Have a good day people!
